Frequently Asked Questions

Now that we have over 1.34 million people subscribed to Our YouTube ChannelOur Facebook Page boasts over 1.5 million much appreciated followers, I am (fortunately) getting so many messages and comments that I am unable to keep up with them all, AND still stay focused on all my full-time professional eating, nutrition & dietetics, and entrepreneurial efforts. I greatly appreciate everyone’s time and support, and I want your questions to be answered as quickly as possible. Because it sometimes might take days and even up to a week to respond to some social media messages and/or emails, I wanted to create this page that has general responses to the questions and comments I receive most often, over 80% of the time. Now if you have a common question, it can be answered NOW without you having to wait. Thanks for your awesome support that allows my team and I the opportunity to do everything we get to do, especially during both our national and  international world tours!! I will update this page as necessary and include when it was last updated. Thanks for understanding and I appreciate you checking out my website!!

If you are wondering about Atlas & Zeus, or how I got started with all this back in 2010, over 11 years ago...
If you have questions about my FC mascot Teddy bear Leonidas...
If you are concerned about my bodyweight and health status...

First of all, thank you for your genuine concern and for caring about me and my physical health. Your incredible support allows me to travel the world and do everything I’m fortunate enough to do as part of my career and mission. While my bodyweight does increase significantly during longer tours and it may not seem like it just through watching the videos, I do stay well aware of how my body is doing/feeling. I’m going on 11 years with zero health issues stemming from food challenges, & I plan on keeping it that way well beyond after I retire to continue on as the first major social media dietitian. As I tell family, “Please trust that I know what I’m doing – that’s all you can do.” 💪

If you are wondering what my goal is regarding total food challenge wins...

My food challenge victory goal the past few years has been to win over 1,000 food challenges in all 50 states (done) and at least 50 countries. I also want to have wins in every major province / state in both Australia and Canada. I will not retire after 1,000 or I reach that goal. I will keep going until it is time to shift over to being a social media dietitian. I estimate that I will finish my pro eating career with about 1,250 challenge wins total. Thanks for all support!!

If you are wondering where I will be going next...

As part of this RandySantel.com revamp, we added a schedule page that hosts my calendar of upcoming events. Check it out via the menu “Schedule” tab. If you ever want to access it directly, just type in RandySantelSchedule.com.

If you are wondering whether I will reply to your message, or someone else will who manages the page...

I am the only person who manages my social media messages and email accounts. When you receive a message reply via social media or email, it was me who responded to it. I try to reply to all the emails and comments I can!!

If you are wondering my height and weight...

I am 6’5″ and have been since high school. My weight depends on the day and/or which video you are watching. My weight increases as our trips progress. Then I take multiple months off afterwards to lose the weight I gained, before touring again. As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in the future, I will maintain my weight at around 250 lbs or 114 kg. For anyone wondering who follows my girlfriend Katina Eats Kilos, she is 5’2″ tall. 🙂

If you are wondering my age...

I am 34 years old and my birthday is June 24th. I’m a “Cancer” and my 1/2 birthday is December 24th on Christmas Eve, and yes I still celebrate it!! 🙂

If you are wondering what I studied in college/university...

On May 17, 2019, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. I also earned a minor in Biomedical Sciences, both complementing the Construction Management degree I received from MSU back in 2008. I will begin my required Dietetic Internship and start working towards a Master of Science in Dietetics this upcoming August 2021. Lots more learning to do and I am excited for it!!

If you are wondering how much longer I'll be a professional eater, or when I will finally retire...

I will begin my Dietetic Internship this upcoming August 2021 through Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Katina and we will live in Milwaukee for at least one full year. After finishing up the internship program, I intend to complete a Master of Science in Dietetics through MMU and then I will take the national credentialing exam to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Around that time is when I will slow down on doing food challenges and shift over to becoming a social media dietitian and I will travel as a public speaker.

For permission to share our content on a Facebook page...

Yes you can share our videos, and thanks for asking in advance. Please credit our YouTube and Facebook channels. We appreciate your consideration and willingness to feature us. Big pages sharing our videos has helped us A LOT!!

Have I ever failed a food challenge before?
If you sent me a video or article link shared by a major Facebook, TikTok, or other social media page followed by loads of people...

Thanks for thinking of me when you saw that video or article posted!! I really appreciate that, and I’m happy I am at the forefront of your thoughts when it comes to food challenges. I am aware of the challenge since I follow all those pages too, and will see what I can do the next time I am in the area, if it isn’t way bigger than I can handle (over 10 lbs) and if the time limit isn’t too short.

If you are wondering if I have completed a specific challenge, or a challenge near your city/state/country...

I have more than 974 food challenge wins in 37 countries and all 50 states, including Washington, D.C., so there is a high percentage chance I have tried the challenge you’re inquiring about, if it is well known on the internet. Check out my food challenge victories map!! If I have been there, the video link will be available so you can watch. I hope to be back near your area again soon!!

If you seek food challenge tips or competitive eating advice...

I spent many months writing all the articles on FoodChallenges.com, and they are filled with 100% of all my competitive eating tips and strategy advice I still practice today. The information can help you learn to train and strategize to dominate food challenges. I have nothing to add to what already exists. Check out the articles and embedded videos under the TIPS and STRATEGIES (tabs).
